I just installed this processor as an upgrade to a e2180. Here is an excerpt from CPU-Z:

Notice that it only shows 4 MB of L2 cache. What am I missing here??

GA-P35-DS3L
Q6600 stock (for now)
4 GB A-DATA DDR2 800
Earthwatts 500-D

btw, I did uninstall each core and re-install in vista. Device Manager is now showing all 4 cores, but CPU-Z and RealTemp only show 2. Everest shows one core. Also, I did reset the CMOS before installing the processor.

Check to see if you have something like 'Core multi-Processing' option (*edit* - in the bios), which could be disabled, and why perhaps CPU-Z sees only 2 of the 4.

I am using Vista 64.

I also bought a seagate 640 gb 32 mb cache HD. I just reinstalled windows onto it, and all is well. Realtemp shows 4 cores, and so CPU-Z shows 4 cores and 4 mb x2 of cache. Temps are low with my arctic cooler 7... all four cores are between 29 C to 34 C.

Now to overclock!
