Q6600 to i5 2310/20?

Hi everyone,

Getting rid of some odds and ends, old laptops etc and the chip and board I've got and looking to upgrade my CPU with what little money i make. I have a limited budget of around £150 for both CPU and MB. I found a few second hand i5 2310/2320 for £100 and was wondering if it would be a worthy upgrade? Or if there is a better CPU to grab? I am mainly a gamer but also dabble in music creation etc. Not overly worried about overclocking but need a CPU that will fit a MB with preferably sata3/usb3 so next upgrade I only need to change the CPU. Thanks in advance

Maybe you should consider an AMD alternative at that budget.
