Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could guide me to a step by step instructions on how to over lock my cpu safely with a stock cooler please.

My specs are-
Q9400 cpu
Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L mobo
Standard 1333 8 gb ram

Thanks guys🙂

The previous posters are correct. You should never overclock with a stock cooler. I also wouldn't overclock on that motherboard. It has a 3+1 power phase design. Not really good for overclocking. Also considering there aren't heat spreaders on the power phases, the motherboard is going to run warm if not hot.

I know how to overclock a 775 CPU. I overclocked my Q9550 years back. While it may be possible, just know what you're getting into.

it will depend on whether you can get there on stock volts or not... as soon as you start bumping volts you will start increasing heat dramatically.
on stock you might be lucky and only increase heat by 3-5'c but add 0.1v and that will jump by 5-10'c
and just because some 1 says you can do it, doesnt mean you should... after all its not there hardware your overclocking...
