Here is what my computer temps are at idle, I installed the T.R.U.E/sflex last night w/as5. Are these normal temps for this setup? I am thinking of overclocking and would like some advice before I do so, as I am a noob.

I lapped my heatsink with 220 aluminum oxide paper, cleaned with alcohol, then treated the surface with as5. How much cooler do you think it would run if I re lapped with 800-1200 paper? Would it be worth doing? Thanks for the advice.

Will my temps drop another 2-5c over the as5 break in peroid?

I ran into the same scenario, many Q9450 owners have. As brendano257 noted, as long as you're not over 70C you still have quite a bit of safety margin before the CPU's limit. TjMax is widely believed to be 95C, so even @ 70C you've got a 25C margin. Someone correct me if you believe my understanding to be incorrect.

Update, I did some overclocking, I think it may be running too hot under load so i backed it down to stock until I get some more input....

Ok, here are a few different temp programs. Can you tell me which one is correct? Am I just misreading them?

RealTemp is closest to accurate. In your CoreTemp it has 105C as the TjMax when its widely thought to be 95C, which is what RealTemp reports. That's why there's a 10C difference.

You have a better VID than mine, you should be able to get 3.6ghz with less volts than me. You have speedstep enabled by the looks of the screenshot, can you turn off ClE, speedstep, that way would be able to see your actual vcore in cpu-z.
