I have overclocked my Q9550 E0 to 3740mhz, 440x8.5 with all settings left at auto except the vcore is set to 1.12 in the bios, do you think this is fine for a 24/7 OC? temps are 30c idle and 58/58/60/58 C load. I didn't bother changing NBcore or anything like that, is this okay to do? and a good OC?

While i would love to see you get into changing more settings with that nice cpu you have, the truth of the matter is, it will do no harm to leave those settings on auto. I would check just to make sure they do not overvolt themselves (in the pc health section of bios) but i doubt they will even raise the voltage above stock.

Thank you for your help overshocked, i decided to leave it at 3740 mhz, seeing as i do not gain anything really after that point, it will mostly be up to my gpu now (gtx 260), but i managed to get it stable at 1.096 vcore :wahoo: So i'm going to leave it at that. temps 58/58/60/59 max, 28/28/32/30 C idle

No i'm using the Scythe Katana II with AS-5, but im going to the store today to pick up a hyper 212 plus and an extra fan :)
Those temps are with tjmax at 100c also, i hear some people sayings its actually 95c tho..
