So I am getting my new CPU tomorrow, and don't as of now have anyfan that will work with it but the stock. I realize this is a pretty wimpy fan, and I can wait to OC till I can afford a real fan or to water cool it. So my question is this...

Is it safe to OC it on stock, or should I not do it at all. If so, how much is safe. And 3rdly, how. I'm kinda a newb on this part, and now this aspect of the question is not as important as I know there's LOADS of info floating around that tells how. I would just like to hear it from people who have done it and know the pitfalls.

This thread should answer pretty much all your questions: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/240001-29-howto-overclock-quads-duals-guide

Figuring out how far you can push your chip is something you need to do yourself and depends mostly on what kind of temperatures you are getting (also addressed in the above thread).
