hello everyone, i've been trying to o.c my old tank q9550, which i could manage 3.73 ghz rock stable. (prime+ibt) but when i go higher than that, problems arise. It was almost stable at 3.76 ghz (failed in prime --small fft-- after an hour or so, it crashed to desktop. passed in ibt even at high stress, 15 turns, I used this setting for a week, gaming was fine also-but then decided to downclock a bit-just to be at safe boat) and at 3.80ghz my quad failed at any program that stresses the cpu.
I have 650 watt ocz 80+bronze psu, ep45c-ds3r motherboard, bigboy ddr2 6gb 800 mhz valueram.(ram's are not concern at 3.80 ghz as i tested them in memtest, no error's in 5 passes, 2.1v dram voltage)
Okay, thats it, the real problem is, whenever i raise the vcore, cpu-z or everest or all other programs even hardware monitor all reads around the same voltage, 1.100 at idle, 1.184 at load.. Its nonsense which i cannot understand, they must show at least 1.3v (1.3175 set at bios). According to coretemp, my vid is 1.265 at load and 1.1 when idle.
Am i missing something? In bios, vcore equals to 0.00000v and i change manually but it doesn't seem to effect anything plus e0 revision of quad q9550's have reputation for their high o.c ability. It seems like i'm failing to move higher than 3.73 just because of voltage problem. (worker stops working in prime, just in minutes above 3.76 ghz)
Well my goal is to reach around 3.83 ghz, not much more than that. Just because o.c'ing valueram, I have a feeling ram problems will arise above that point
Thanks for any help.
