I am currently running my Q9550 @ 3.54GHz @ 5:4 ratio (I have 1333 memory)
My temps, during error free prime95 smallFFT test:
max temps: MB: 40 CPU:51 core1/1:56 core1/2:51 core1/3:60 core1/4:53

Vcore on auto at 1.328

Everything seems fine at these settings, but I want to go higher.

I am cooling with a core contact 4

How high can I go? is 1999fsb too high an objective?

What are my limiting factors? only temperature?

is it air cooled? the north bridge might get hot. i got my q6600 to 3.8 no problems stock air cooled no errors, i didnt get my vcore that high, i wouldnt recommend going past what the manual says maximum

if you need to you should be able to take your Vcore to about 1.49v max!!!

Your temps are absolutely fine, but might be worth running a more comprehensive custom test in Prime. With those temps you can surely go higher and i reckon 4.0GHz (about 1780) should be fine.

Take it in slow steps from then on tho, it all depends on your particular chip, so who knows how high yours will go!

1.49 on a Q9550 ? you crazy, its not a Q6600 !

you can get this 9550 @ 3.8 under 1.4 vcore. i dont recommand 1.5 on a 45nm cpu, its pretty high.

My bad. I have a Q6600 and have been so wrapped up in my own oc problems!

mine's 3.91ghz on 1.3V. I wanted to go higher but the fact that i'm using 8gb of ram is not helping with the OC and the northbridge temperature (it's set to 1.5v if i remember correctly). Good thing i'm using the p5q deluxe or else I wouldn't dare to go that high for a northbridge
