Q9560 or Q9550

I have a gt 1030 and my current processor-
wolfdale E8400 bottlenecks the gpu, I'm looking to get a new cpu and i don't know if the Q9560 is worth the extra money over the Q9550. Please help.

Given the nature of those two processors the Q9550 traditionally. How much for both and why did you you choose from the Core 2 Quad family?

Your Motherboard has a supported processor list. Make sure those processors are on it.

Consider a new system. For example a new i5-7400 based acer system is $400 at newegg. Compare to the price of the new or used CPUs you are buying.

Objectively, I'd go with Q9550 since it is almost the half the price of Q9650 on ebay and the performance difference is only within 10% margin. But subjectively, I choose Q9650, just to go with the best one possible between the two and make myself feel better. They are around $28 and $52 respectively.

+1 If the CPU doesn't come with a cooler consider buying one. You will be pushing the factory cooler for the e8400 past specs.
