q9600 core2quad good for gaming?

Actually, I got a offer that a 3 month used core2quad q9600 for 25$. I want to just replace the mad ass Celeron with a quad core one, but.. what about motherboard and is it good for high gaming?

it is solid for gaming you can overclock it to get more out of it and its good offer for 25$
