Hello,
My QNAP TS-251+ is not booting anymore. When I try to power on, the power led glows for a second or two, while the land led start glowing. The device is getting rebooted by itself after 10 seconds. After the reboot, the fan and lan led continue to work.
There is a short tick sound, 3 seconds after the start.
Also, when I remove the CMOS battery and attempt to start, it performs the reboot twice and after second reboot, the fan will run constantly. Also, I have observed that, at times, the status/power led remains glowing constantly, though it is not always.
If I attach CMOS battery, the device do the reboot only once, after 5 seconds and then fan will run constantly.
Is this a bios failure or motherboard failure. The CPU is J1900 celeron quad core. I have two RAM modules(2GB each) and i tried swapping them. Not much help from QNAP so far and repair estimate is higher than a brand new device. I asked this question in QNAP forum, but still not much help.
Also, the video output gives, "No Signal" error in all scenarios.
Is there any service provider in UK, who can check the motherboard for a reasonable price. I emailed a few, but no replies yet 🙁
Also, since it is a custom NAS board from QNAP, the same is not available for purchase.
Any guidance will be a great help.
