QNAP TS212 - run on one drive?

Hi, I have a QNAP TS212 2 bay NAS but cannot afford to add 2 drives at the moment. Can I run the NAS with one drive temporarily in order to learn the software and utilities, then later add the two drives later.
Also, which software do I need to download from QNAP - I didn't get the install cd when I bought the NAS.

Yes you can, 2 bay means it has storage potential for 2, not that it needs 2 to run, same applies to any NAS.

I did find this download page but wasn't quite sure which software was installed when. I presume its just the QSync software.? (I wasn't sure what the QFinder software was..

It is the latest build.
