QOS help on my router

So i've been trying to setup my QOS on my router and i got pretty confused, it seems that my router settings are quite complicated and are different from the ones i find on youtube.

So this is what i find and this is pretty damn confusing, please tell me how to configure it correctly.
i just need to organize my home network, it can get pretty frustrating when someone is downloading something or watching YT.

This is only starting to get complicated. It does not even have the features you actually need I suspect. The vast majority of those setting are totally worthless on a router connected the internet. Even if you manage to set DSCP the ISP will remove the markings. On top of that DSCP actually means nothing since you must define rules to act on the markings.

So the only thing this router can do is slightly favor certain traffic that is being SENT to the internet.

Your problem is overload of the download path. There is nothing you really can do about this with even the most advanced router. The ISP is in full control by the time your router see any data anything that was dropped is gone and you can do nothing. There are some advanced QoS configurations that are used to try to trick machine error recovery into requesting less data and in effect limit the download speed.

It doesn't matter since your router does not have these features and it take good knowledge of QoS configuration to be able to do it since it is a very non standard configuration.

So there is no hope in creating bandwidth control ? No hope at all ? is there anything i can do to atleast improve my traffic control ?
Will a new modem solve my problem ?

Pretty much there is no hope. 4m of bandwidth is not a lot to start with and if you use QoS to limit the traffic to video you will have limit it so low it is pretty much unusable. You can accomplish the same thing by asking whoever is doing it to not rather than use software you pretty much end up in the same place.

Your problem is you have a modem/router. Most these devices are do not have many advanced features and you have no option to load other firmware.

You might be able to put your current device in bridge mode and the buy a more advanced router to put in front. Still you will likely have to load third party firmware like dd-wrt. Third party firmware takes lots of reading so you have to be willing to put the time in.

In the end what is going to happen when you limit the other person to say 1m of video and they need 2m. That is not a issue you can resolve via technology.
