At the moment I'm dual booting XP & win7 32bit (7000) on different C & D partitions (same drive).

First Q? would there be a problem dual booting xp & win7 RC, 32 & 64bit together?

Q2, can I still install the win7 RC by mounting the image from XP (as i did with the earlier version)?

Q3, would I be better to format my D partition first from XP before mounting the image of the RC.
( because it still holds the old version of win7 on it)

or just mount win7 RC & let that do the formatting itself?

cheers ;o)

Solution
The general rule is to go from earlier OS to the later ones. So if you have your Vista and XP installs already set up, then you should be able to add 7 to a new drive/partition, do a startup repair, and see all three.
Q1 - shouldnt be a problem as long as you're careful with which partitions you install
Q2 - yes - exactly the same
Q3 - you can do it either way - personally id format it from the windows 7 installer - that way you're less likely to foul-up the boot manager especially if you are already dual botting.
