hi all,

i just reinstalled quake ii after it has sat on a shelf for many years.
evertime i play the game it requires to the cd be placed in the drive.

this can be a pain in the butt. the game plays just fine with the cd in
the drive.

what i was wondering, is there is a no cd hack available for the game.

Bob,

Get the latest patch 3.20 and the CD-check is removed.

i just reinstalled the game using the "maximum" install option and it no
longer requires the cd.

i will still check into the patch.

i stand corrected. reinstalling the game did not fix the cd being required.

i went and got the patch from id software and the cd is no longer needed.
