Now i want to utilize the full quad channel bandwidth of my X99 mobo, do i have to install 8 ram sticks in total to occupie all the 8 slots on my mobo to have full bandwidth or do i have to install 4 ram sticks in total to achieve full bandthwidth memory speed? do i have to install them left or right or on the same side? also my geil 2x8 evo 2400 sticks from 2014 or not on sale anymore can i install other brand with same timings togetheer with my old Geil sticks?

Solution
Quad channel is 4 sticks, so no but you will need to buy quad channel ram sticks not add to what you have, it is specialized 4 pack of ram stick timed together)

specification of ram stick located on user manual: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/817528/Gigabyte-Ga-X99-Gaming-G1-Wifi.html?page=10#manual

as for how to put the ram in your system to get quad channel speeds.
you can find the information in your user manual (also found on the web) -> https://www.manualslib.com/manual/817528/Gigabyte-Ga-X99-Gaming-G1-Wifi.html?page=16#manual on this page

Solution
For quad channel to take effect, you should have at least 4 slots on the board to be populated. i.e: DDR4_1_1A, DDR4_3_1B, DDR4_7_1D and DDR4_5_1C the grey slots

The same is found in your motherboard manual, page 16.
Furthermore, mixing and matching rams are bad practice, you should invest in a 4x8GB or a 4x16GB DDR4-2400MHz 1.35v kit.
