Quad core cpus that wouldn't be held back by gtx 1050

hi, i was wondering what quad core cpus wont be Held back by a gtx 1050? i currently have one paired with g3258, but i want to play games that require a quad core cpu

well the socket is lga 1150, but i might change the mobo anyway. i saw a tempting offer of fx 8350 with a mobo for 150$ but wbu intel

For that price you can get an i5 4690 which is quite a bit better than that fx. Plus you wouldn't have to worry about reinstalling windows.

More like the 4690 will have plenty of headroom for any GPU.

The scenario you want to avoid is having a CPU that can't handle the GPU, not the other way around.

oh ok, thx i saw a 4590 for 120 so probably gonna get that
(update) http://thebottlenecker.com/#calculator this is the only reason i was worried since when u put a 4590 with a gtx 1050 it shows 19% bottleneck (below 10% considered no bottleneck) and says gpu too weak for cpu

i5-4460 etc. there is a long list of haswell processors that will fit your socket. a 4690 isn't going to feel any faster than a common 4460 especially if it is just for gaming with a gtx 1060 or lower... any haswell cpu will be fine with a gtx 1050. you can probably find a good used one on flebay for around $100.

remember if you get a devils canyon haswell refresh processor you will need likely need to update the current bios on your motherboard before you swap cpus.
