Quad core i7 laptop in 13" ?

Hello,

I am trying to find a quad core i7 for a 13" laptop. I have only been able to find quad cores on 15" or larger but nothing on 13" so far. I was wondering if anyone know of a quad core 13" laptop. I chose this specific size, due to portability reasons and fits into my day to day bag. I work with cpu intensive programs therefore the duo core U skew usually found on 13" laptops is just not going to cut it.

If you do not need that new laptop immediately, you could try waiting for new laptops based on AMD's Raven Ridge (Ryzen CPU + Vega IGP) to see what laptop manufacturers decide to do with it. That should get you in the neighborhood of i7 performance at much more affordable price points.

If you absolutely want an i7 now, there's the Surface 4 Pro, MacBook Pro and few other similar ultraportables for people with deep wallets who want minimal weight and encumberment around ~$2000.

Thanks for the heads up about the ryzen cpu on laptops. I forgot about that. The examples that you have mentioned are all 15inch laptops. I was looking for a 13inch laptops with quad cores. I guess what I want currently doesn't exist. Thanks for the reply.

The Surface Pro 4 has a 12.3" screen.

With AMD shaking the hive, some interesting things should happen over the next two years across the board.
