Quad core xeon e5410 2.33 Ghz VS i7 920 2,66 GHz

Hello there !!!
In less than 3 months , I'll have to choose between those two :

--> Quad core xeon e5410 2.33 Ghz VS i7 920 2,66 GHz

Any good advice will be gladly received . My use mainly virtualization(vmware virtual servers and linux boxes in general...etc) video rendering, dvd ripping, film encoding, postproduction ...NO GAMES

The I7920 is the better processor the E5410 is built around the same core as the core2 line. The I7 is much newer has hyper threading, on die memory controler and support for tri channel ddr3 ram I7 winner hands down.

Keeps up to what the I7s are king at multithread.

xeon E5410 4 cores 4 threads.

I7 920 4 cores 8 threads.
