Hi.

Is it safe to mine with 4x7970 without a rack/raisers, wouldn't the cards overheat when they are close together?

Solution
Depends on the cooling power of your GPUs and the airflow you're providing. I'm assuming youre asking this because they're inside a case?

Unless you have EXTREMELY good airflow, you're probably going to have to remove the side panel and mount a boxfan of sorts directly up against the cards.
Monitor your temps closely when you start. Those cards are space heaters when it's just one... Them being cramped together on a board, in a case, running @ 100%..... gonna get TOASTY boyo. Make sure you set a GPU temp limit in your miner config so the miner stops mining on that gpu, when they get to a certain temp.
