quad or dual core for skyrim?

Yep that's fine and dandy. Skyrim only use 2 cores anyway so
I played that game super smooth on an old Athlon II X4 640 @ 3ghz so you should be fine.

Thanks! So many people have been telling me "oh games like skyrim can only be playable with 4 cores!" I knew they were wrong because I have seen youtube videos but thought I would make sure.

I agree that the CPU should be enough but Skyrim can use up to 4 cores. I know this from pooling data while playing and according to the steam page it also has recommended quad core Intel or AMD cpu. So yes you can play with a dual core but as mentioned before it can utilize up to 4 if available.
