I currently have a HP P7-1155 and just installed a quadro k6000 with a power supply upgrade. After installing it into my computer, I have yet to see a difference in my FPS, did I forget to do something? Do I need to install drivers? If so where do I find them?

Depending on what card you upgraded from, you may need to do a thorough uninstall using DDU. Simply boot into safe mode, run the utility, and reboot. http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Drivers can be found on nvidias website: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us install those after you have done a thorough uninstall of all previous drivers.

Do you mind if I ask why you got a quadro k6000 for gaming? I thought that was mostly used for workstations.

I`m curious, why have you fitted a card that is more geared to working with cad, and rendering, and such things.

Is the system mainly used for the type of programs that would run best with the K6000 card.

Or did you buy it with the though it would play games much better ?

Graphics cards, and workstation cards don`t work the same way in some aspects of the tasks performed on each.
each card is geared for efficiency in set disciplines and how it manipulates graphics and textures.

As rule of thumb if you only intend to play games with a K6000 card it`s not exactly optimized in how it executes things for games.
But more efficient for Cad, or rendering work ect, as it`s main task.

As an example workstation cards have double point provision, geared towards raw computing calculations.
Such as algorithms.

My friend had a Quadro K6000 and decided to give it to me. I understand it was designed for work stations but I had thought it still would have been fine for gaming. Would it not work for gaming?

Thats one nice friend you got there! thats a ~$3k card! If I were you I would consider selling that and picking up a 980ti or a furyx. Both will probably give you better performance in gaming at 1/6th the price.

If you decide to keep it, the program I linked will automatically uninstall all drivers for you. Its pretty straightforward once you launch it.

It'll game pretty well. https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Can-you-game-on-an-NVIDIA-Quadro-GPU-604/ Puget tested with a k5200 which was similar to a 770. The k6000 should be just a bit slower than a 780ti. Is your monitor plugged into the graphics card? No need to uninstall the previous drivers. You just need to get the new ones from nvidia.

Oh wow can you hook me up 😉

Lmfao The monitor needs to be connected with the video card?

You'd be surprised how many people don't know that it does need to be plugged into the graphics card to use the graphics card. There are pcie power cables that need to be plugged into the gpu, it should have 2, 6 pin slots. The psu should have pcie power cables that plug into that. It maybe 6+2 where the 2 pins can come off.

It won't be in device manager because it's not being used. That's why you need to disconnect the monitor from the mobo and plug it into the card. Dvi, dp, hdmi, whatever the monitor has already. You may not need to switch, it might be automatic. There may not be any option to turn off the igpu. Just look for any graphics setting that has an option for choosing but only if you don't get any display from the card, obviously in that case it's not automatically switching.

It might be from it not switching. You can try resetting cmos, otherwise go back to the igpu and look for the option to switch. It may also have security so look for a secure boot option to disable. This prevents any hardware changes. Or bios may need to be in legacy mode so look for any legacy mode to enable.

My IGPU is automatically disabled when a GPU is inserted so I cannot turn it off in BIOS so what should I do?

Did you ever try anything I said before?

I tried resetting+ secure boot option disable but couldn't find legacy mode but still no answer. Kinda bothering me why this doesn't work
