SLI is only a thing for gaming, if doing CUDA rendering you don't need SLI support, just sufficient PCIE lanes.
I suggest waiting for threadripper due to the 64 PCIE lanes and high thread count CPUs for reasonable prices.
No, its not only for gaming and I suggest not answering questions like this if you don't know what you are talking about, and are going to completely ignore what the OP is asking, and toss out useless suggestions instead.
OP yes the P6000 does support 4 way SLI. PNY mentions it on their spec page
http://www.pny.com/nvidia-quadro-p6000
I thought pure CUDA application of Nvidia cards didn't take advantage of that method.
All depends on what the use scenario is I guess..
At least I know now for future that there actually are SLI applications for non-gaming scenarios.
Could you mention what CUDA applications specifically use SLI?
Would love to learn what software works off this, never had the need for SLI with Quadro cards in my experience, so it is a relatively fresh area to me, I was under that impression from making upwards of two dozen quadro oriented systems, none of which needed SLI for their use.
Apologies for the incorrect info.
