Quake 2 without CD?

Does anyone know how to play Quake 2 without a CD? None of the install
options will allow me to do this, and the No-CD Patch I found says that "the
exe file is already patched". Any suggestions?

Upgrade to at least 3.20 - you may have to do a little hunting for some
patches if you have a really old version. Alternativly, you can download
the source code, and compile out the CD-check.

If you patch it to the latest, it won't need the CD in the drive.
