Ian Cutress (tech potato) mentioned in his live streams a week or two ago there was some kind of manufacturing flaw with the kits, something to do with the video output ports coming loose, seems like they went with a recall.

They just screwed the whole launch from the start. Never made anything easy for devs. That's why linux is taking a year and half of windows apps are still not working. Closed off systems are not going to compete easily

Does anyone proofread posts / articles anymore? The auto-correct in my browser won't even let me misspell the word "retail" if I try.

For a dev kit like this to be of much use, it should've started shipping before the Snapdragon X laptops, to give devs as much time as possible to port, test, fix, and tune their apps. At this point, they might as well cancel it, because probably most serious WoA devs have already bought Snapdragon X laptops.

Better luck, next gen.

P.S. I was hoping to use something like this to run Linux, at some point. Such hopes will have to rest with their partners and their alleged plans to bring similar products to market.
