Quality effected by HDMI to VGA Adapter?

I am buying a ps3 (I dont know why, dont ask haha). I have a 1920x1080 Dell computer monitor and I want to know how much the quality of the video game will be effected if I use a HDMI to VGA Adapter that still blows it up to 1080p

VGA is an older connector, if they both support 1080p it won't effect it, however if VGA does not support 1080p it will adjust to it's resolution that it does support. The PS3 I believe goes up to 720p.

If using a TV, in order not to compromise the truly digital image, i.e. from a PC, tablet etc., turn the TV sharpness setting off (0%).
