So that's it? Get a better power supply? How many wats? So everything is compatable with each other?

Is the machine better than the build off machine?

550 ti is a trashy graphics card. I would get a 7770, more budget case, not get a green HDD. Get the VP450.

The build off computer is better but uses outdated parts.
