What is the best for sharing internet? I am connected with a LAN cable and my

sister is connected wirelessly and we share out bandwith, she is only watching

videos and I am playing games. What's the best of all of those to keep the ping

lower, because I get over 1000 ping when playing on any game and any server

when she is connected wirelessly and only watching videos on her tablet.

All it means is that total bandwidth to your house will be somewhere between 5 and 10m. They do this because there are very large variations in the cable going to people houses.

So lets say you get 7m. It is for all users and all machine. They have no way to divide it up since they have no clue what you consider important. Some uses say their bit torrent downloads are most important and other says their video streaming is important. They generally are just lazy and do not want to deal with issues like this.

Still 5m is a lot. games use very little maybe 500k at the most. Video can use more but even high def 1080p video will not generally use more than 3m.
You are wasting your time. Go look up what those letters mean along with the extra keyword of ATM. You pretty much only see this on DSL equipment since this is all the is left of the old ATM networks.

Still it all does not matter. You cannot set this. It is defined when the circuit is provisioned by the telco. If you set yours to something that does not match it will likely just not work at all.

Even if you could change it does no good to solve your problem. This sets the QoS between virtual circuits not between packets... atm does not even use ip or packets.... The only way you could do this would be to get the ISP to device 2 virtual circuits between their office and your house with different QoS. You would then route one type of traffic though one circuit and the other thought the second. Even though DSL is based on ATM I doubt it supports this option.

Only thing I can choose is QoS class. If I choose CBR, it says I have to enter PCR, in which number 1 is already entered.

It is the rated speeds you are expected to get....be sure you actually test this when it is installed because DSL is very dependent on the wire coming into your house from the phone company. A home user almost always downloads more than they upload so having high download speed is much more important than high upload speeds. This should be more than enough bandwidth for your 2 things to share. If you still have issues I would be looking at the router having a issue. Some very cheap routers sometimes do not have enough CPU power to run wireless well when there are errors. This is not common anymore most routers are very fast.

but what does 5-10 mean? will i get 5 or 10mbps or what? does that mean 5mbps on two devices and 10mbps on a single device?
