I have a PC in one corner of my lab and need to plug in some USB 3.0 equipment at a bench along a different wall. I measured I should need about 20-25ft of cable to reach there. My PC has type-C, USB 3.2 gen 2 ports so I figured it would be easy to get a USB hub with a type-C upstream connector and some sort of 25ft active USB type-C cable to span the distance.
However it looks like there is a lot of snake oil and straight up scam offerings in the world of long-distance active USB cables and even USB hubs seem to vary wildly in quality. I don't have a great frame of reference for what brands are reliable here so I was hoping someone here has done something similar and has a recommendation for good hardware to use.
