[SOLVED] Quality UPS/SP Combo, or stick with Surge Protectors?

Are there any reliable UPS/Surge Protector combos out there? Outervision calculator says I would need at least a 1300VA model.
Or should I just stick with only the surge protector?
I live in the southern US(LA), where hurricanes, T-storms, etc., are kinda the norm.

That's a damn top notch surge strip there. I take it the diagnostic LED says it's kaput?

A UPS isn't going to give you better protection. It's simply going to keep the PC running if the power goes out.

If you're worried about brownouts, you can get an AVR like the Tripp-Lite LC1200 Line Conditioner. It boosts low voltages and bucks high voltages. But, to be fair, a good quality PSU in your rig can handle a wide range of line voltages. But that might not be true of other equipment you have plugged in (i.e. printer, USB hub, monitors, etc.)

Correct, that LED is indeed out. If had the unit for almost 3 years.

I didn't believe it would, but knowing it would allow me some time to properly shut down the PC - a QoL factor, if you will.

I will take a look at that, thanks. I do have 2 monitors and a printer.

Ok, so I've determined that I don't really need an AVR.
This UPS caught my attention: APC Back UPS PRO BR 1500VA
Though I'll probably be fine with just getting another Tripp-Lite.

I use that same UPS. It seems to be pretty solid. But I'm in CA and we don't have many power issues (but I used to live in FL, so I understand your dilemma.)

Tripplite dies on you in 3 years? Sure it doesn't have a longer warranty than that?

It's not dead, but the protection LED is no longer on. The warranty does not cover normal wear.
I don't want to chance continuing to use it - after all, it's just a power strip at this point.
