I have two harddisks on Primary IDE cable and one CDROM and CDRW on Secondary IDE cable. I unplug the slave (CDRW) and plug into the Quantum BigFoot 2.1 GB and I boot up. No error msgs or anything when I POST but when I reach Windows, the HDD could not be seen anywhere at all. I am sure my jumper settings is correct and there is light and the HDD's light is always blinking too. I am also sure my cable is not plugged in the wrong position. What could be wrong? Is Bigfoot not recognized in WIN98SE?

Is the hard drive "new" and not used before?
is the hard drive formatted?
and if the hard drive was used before is it possible that its old enough to have gone bad?

its possible that the bigfood doesnt like being a slave to the cd drive.

have u tried it as the master? (dont forget the jumpers)

Excuse me for a moment. I need to drive my ergonomic wheely chair over a sheet of bubble wrap!
