Hi

Recently I purchased a used Lenovo Y50-70 gaming laptop. The specs are:-

i7 Processor

16Gb DDR3L RAM

1 TB HDD

GTX 960M 2GB

4k screen [samsung pls]

I've two queries:-

1.This laptop came with 16 GB DDR3 L RAM [ 8GB x 2 samsung pc 12800]. They run at 1.35 volt. I have removed this RAM and installed 8GB of DDR3 RAM [4GB x 2 samsung PC 3 -10700]. They run at 1.5 volt. On bootin the system didnt give any warning about the RAM and the system runs fine. Now I am aware installing DDR3 RAM will reduce performance but what I want to know is will using a DDR3 1.5 volt RAM instead of 1.35v damage the mother board or processor in long run or are safe to run in this laptop?

2.This laptop came with a 4K screen. The installed screen is a Samsung PLS screen. This screen though quite sharp is not very bright at its native settings [especially at 4K with or without scaling]. Using the intel HD graphics controller color settings doesnt make it any better] I want to know if there are any good replacement screens for this laptop which come with better brightness at native settings [like above 300 nits] and if any would appreciate if you could recommend a good replacement screen
