questin about Sata port

Hi every one am new to this website and am getting used to it now

and i wanna know few details about STA PORTS in mother boards

every one know about the ASUS Z87K Motherboard and it has 6 x SATA 6Gb/s port(s) in it so
what i wanna know is can i connect a SATA 3Gb/s hard disc in to it is it possible? Or any diffrent in 6 Gb/s port and 3Gb/s port ???/

Yes you can. Obviously you will be limited in your bandwith but you won't cap 3Gb/s anyway, let alone 6.

Yea the ports will allow up to 6GB/s so putting in a device with a smaller transfer speed will work, its only when you have a device faster that it will not run at its full potential.

6 GB ports max at 6 GBs. 3 GB ports max at 3 GBs. The device you plug into it will have its own limitations. A 3GB device can be plugged into either port, but will be limited to 3 GBs. A 6GB device should only be used with a 6 GB port, otherwise you aren't maximizing bandwidth. It'd be like eating a hotdog without the bun.
