Question about 9600gt and display

I recently bought a Nvidia 9600gt 1gb card, and at present I am running it through a DVI-VGA converter, such that its effectively VGA to VGA.
The first thing I want to know is what do I need to hook this up in HD? My TV only has the RGB components for HD, so I assumed that I would simply need a DVI to RGB component cable. However, i've recently heard that I need to get some sort of little box that converts properly into RGB?
Secondly, would this cause a noticable difference in my gaming?

Any responce would be greatly appreciated

Check the cables that came with the video card.
Composite is not as good as HDMI for example.
