Question About a CPU Replacement

I have a Dell 560 built in 2010. It has a LGA 775 socket and Dell tells me the Mother Board number is 18D1Y. I need to replace the E5500 due to a "bland string". I am looking at an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3ghz. This code: MPN: EU80570PJ0806M;AT80570PJ0806M was listed with the E8400. I hope that all needed info is provided for my question.

My question is: will the E8400 work in my Dell 560?

Q9650 looks good, Q9550 is cheaper. Look down the CPU ranking for good performing CPUs. get the latest BIOS from Dell.
