I'm curious, what is the a card right now you could get for 200$, compared to one in 2019 you could get for 200$?
I'm wondering how bad gpu prices have gotten.

The used market is a mostly desolate place since anything with enough VRAM to mine (6GB for ETC) is selling for $400+ even used. All that is left anywhere near $200 used is 4GB or lower cards that are barely usable in modern games and would be worth less than $100 used under normal circumstances.

In late-2019/early-2020. you could get a 4GB GTX1650S or 4GB RX5500 for $160-180.

Today, you are looking at $300+ for either one of those if you can find them.

The sub-$200 market is currently devoid of new parts. The cheapest current-gen stuff that has launched so far starts at $330 MSRP and retails for $500+.

When the next wave of entry-level GPUs launch (RTX3050, RX6500 and A380), MSRPs will likely be above $200 with street prices closer to $350.

The sub-$200 market will be effectively devoid of new parts for the foreseeable future.

Well, occasionally things like a GTX1060, GTX960, GTX750Ti. Depends a lot on the model. Mini cards and low-profile cards tend to hold some value, as well as the ones with better coolers.
RX570 4GB you can still get for $200 as well. Taking on a lot of risk though.

But there are tons of cards even older that still perform on par with some of these. GTX780, 780Ti, The big R9-290 and the like. They are just old and support is starting to taper off.
