Hello!

I currently have a Cooler Master Elite V2 550W powering my pc (Core i3 9100f and GeForce GTX 960) but i started reading online that is a very bad psu, so i decided to change it to a Seasonic GM or GM 550, my question is: Is it worth it? It's true that i have a very bad psu?

Thank you very much!

Solution
for a definitive review and details of exactly what is bad with that unit read the review. its not a bad unit if it was sold as a 380W unit which it is, but its sold as a 550 unit which stinks. https://www.jonnyguru.com/blog/2014/07/07/cooler-master-elite-v2-550w-power-supply/

Seasonic sits amongst the best PSU makers* and with a 10 year warranty it will serve you well for a long time.

*Makers, I make the distinction because seasonic is a manufacturer of PSU for many sellers, the Elite v2 was made by Solytech for CoolerMaster. CM only SELLS a couple decent units the Elite v2is not one of them

Thanks for the answer both of you!
So, according to the review the Elite V2 is not a 550W? That sucks.

As far as the Seasonic I believe they are good units. I think though for the same or similar price you coudl get a Corsair TXm or RMx which are both solid proven units.
I'm not in the US, the place i'm buying it from doesn't have Corsair.

If the Seasonic Core GX/GM is a good psu, then i'm gonna get it,

I have never heard of Seasonic before this psu, so i didn't knew a thing about them, thanks! For the future i will them.

the only seasonic unit I do not suggest is the new S12III series - the three series, not to be confused with the far superior s12II - or two series.
Seasonic does not make the three series for reasons I do not know.

just an FYI the older corsair TXV2 was a modified Seasonic S12II PSU. the Current TX units are made my Great Wall

if you really want to go down the rabbits hole you can check the big name PSU sellers on this list and seasonic makes some units for most if not all of them. look for the gold and platinum rated units as a shortcut. check out XFX.

you know of their work I'm sure.

I considered the S12III at first but i didn't find much info on it, glad i discarded it.
