That "430watt" is actually a 380w PSU. The max continuous power output is 380watts and the peak rating is 430.
And its max +12v output is 23amps and not the 28amps you were hoping to see.

It might  power a system with a 9600GT but I sure don't feel good about recommending that PSU.

:hello: Corsair 400CX $35 after $20 rebate PLUS Additional 20% savings w/ promo code "EXTRA20", ends 12/18 with free shipping.
30amps for +12v. Better and less expensive to boot!!

Actually graphics card manufactures over state the power requriements for their cards. It might run it if HIPRO PSU can actually produce the 380watts and the 23a. I've read that a full system with a 9800gt only really uses under 300 watts of power.

If you haven't aready bought that power supply I would definately get the corsair WR2 recommended.

Splendid
What other components do you have? How many HDD? Dual or Quad? OC?

The 400W Corsair should be fine for a single HDD, dual core, and no OCing.

I would be wary of the Hipro at the best of times, let alone close to it's limit.
