Hello,
I upgraded the RAM in my Acer laptop running Windows 10 from 2x2GB, 1066 MHz to 2x4GB, 1066 MHz. I double checked with the Crucial website before purchasing these Crucial RAMs to be sure of the compatibility.
When I go to the Task Manager and check the performance tab I see:
Speed: 533 MHz
Slots used: 2 of 2
Form factor: DIMM
Hmm...I found the speed to be suspicious...I was expecting 1066 MHz but I see only half of that value, 533 MHz!
So I then went to my Dell Optiplex desktop which is also running Windows 10 and has 8 MB of RAM and I checked the performance tab in Task Manager:
Speed: 1600 MHz
Slots used: 2 of 2
Form factor: DIMM
I know that my Dell desktop has 1600 MHz RAM as opposed to 1033 MHz RAM for the Acer laptop. But why is the Acer showing only 533 MHz?!!
Thanks
