Hi, I want to buy a new GPU and a friend is giving me a pretty good deal for this card: about 60$. I wanted to know if it is still a good enough card to play today's (and why not tomorrow's) games. I'll be playing mostly on 1440x900 since that's what my monitor supports. I would be happy if this can play games between 30-60fps on med-high.

This is the rest of my pc
AMD Athlon II 435
Gigabyte GA-M720-US3
4GB DDR2 Ram
500gb HDD
400w PSU

Ok, so this is the best option for an 100$ budget? And also, since it's from the 6000 series it doesn't have GCN or mantle. Are those really that necessary? And does Nvidia have a better alternative?

I'm asking because I can choose between the 6850 1GB, 7790 1GB, R7 250 1GB GTX 275 1792MB, GTX 460 768MB, GTX 650 OC 2GB, GTX 560, even tough these are a little bit more expensive.

Yea the 6850 is a really good card and if you can get it for 60$ then it is worth it. it can play bf3 at ultra settings around 40 fps without AA and med settings 60 fps not constant but most of the time.

I myself owned this card about 1-2 years ago and it played almost all games on 60 fps high settings. it was the asus 6850 model. then i moved to a gigabyte 7970 that still plays all games on ultra 60+ fps so no need to upgrade for a while : )
