Question Question about an old RAM

I have an old PC for years and today one of my RAMs died. I always thought I had two 2GB RAMs (4GB in total), but when I removed that RAM, I saw 4GB on it not 2GB.
My other RAM is still working and it says 4GB on its body too but it's 2GB in Windows.
Is that 4GB writing on RAM bodies meaning they're really 4GB or they were twins from first day in a package and company just wrote 4GB on their bodies (to show total amount of both) instead of 2GB? I didn't assemble this PC, so I don't know that.

The label says 4gb and kit, so I would say those are 2gb modules for a 4gb kit.

You can install a piece of software like CPU-Z for Windows to see the RAM details.
