Does the Asus maximus xi code z390
Have a centre mount screw ?

It is a standard ATX motherboard. It probably does under that shroud. If that is what you are asking about. But if you use the other eight screws it is sufficiently supported.

I finally found a picture of the back of the motherboard. It does have nine mounting holes.

Since you asked, it made me wonder. So I spent the last 10 minutes looking for a picture of the back of that motherboard.

You can, but it isn't that necessary. I have a ROG Maximus that has survived for years without the center mounting screw (for a similar reason). Eight of the nine mounting screws is enough to secure it.
