Question about Computer Hardware and Performance

Hey all,

Not sure if this goes in this forum but I just had a quick question.
Currently I have a fairly moderate gaming PC (quick specs: i7-4790k, GTX 770, 8 GB RAM..)

GTA V came out recently so I decided to test how well this runs under high quality. It works (but the in-game memory thing goes over the 2gb, which I'm not sure if it means anything) but if I ever alt-tab out I'd be lagging doing anything else. I lowered my settings but I've been finding that if I go anywhere else and started typing I'd get delayed input lag. I don't seem to be lagging anywhere else, however.

My question is, is this a RAM problem or is it somewhere else? I've been meaning to increase the amount of RAM I have in this computer due to my multitasking nature (I'd have two browsers open, i.e. Chrome and Firefox, with bunch of tabs on both while working on something) and I'd like to be able to game with them open with a VM open in the background as well (I tend to take breaks a lot)

Also, if I do upgrade ram, would any DDR3 RAM work? Simply put, if I find something that would fit my case and setup (2 sticks of DDR3 RAM), would it work along with my current 8 GB of ram? I've never had more than two sticks of RAM on a motherboard so I've never had to think about this before but I feel like I have to worry about finding the right RAM to work with this computer. The motherboard and RAM I have is:

RAM: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-A ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post that went all over the place!

To my knowledge that's a known problem with the game, if you tab out for any great amount of time when you come back in there will be input lag. Update your graphics drivers (both sides have released GTAV drivers) and wait for Rockstar to also patch things, not much to do other than that other than not tabbing out.

Mixing RAM kits is generally not a good idea, if your going to upgrade, get another of the exact same kit you already have.
