Hey

Just got a bunch of new parts today and I've just got round to getting the CPU cooler in place.

I was trying to put the screws in for the fans before I put the radiator in the case when I noticed that the screws only went in a few mm before hitting the mesh in the radiator.
I can't tighten them up flush with fans and I was wondering whether this is normal? Am I supposed to screw them straight into the mesh or should there be a deeper hole for them to go in?

I can't even ring my supplier for advice because they're shut over the weekend.

Screws hitting the fins will bend the fins and slightly restrict air flow. If it hits a tube now you take a chance in leaks.
You can use washers to keep the screw out of the fins.
Most local hardware stores have several choices of steel, nylon and possibly in color also.

Put the washer on the screw then into fan,
not in between the fan to the rad as that will create extra space for the air to escape before going through the rad.
