Hello,
I have a Thor Rosewill case and I covered some of the air ways with anti-noise foam to reduce reduction. I uploaded the picture, please check it out and let me know if I did good or bad.

I got a significant noise reduction from upper 240 mm fan by doing so and I believe it helped upper fan vacuum better out of the rig since there is no way of produced hot air to go other than being sucked from above. Before it was trying to get out both from those airways that I covered. please check out the picture and let me know. Is this okay for my rig? I got a temperature of 72 C from extreme HD valley benchmark with the score of 2950. my graphics card is GTX 980 SC.

Well you can never be sure unless you check it under load and see its temps.
I personally would say if you are not completely shutting the air flow it shouldnt be a problem. Although there are certainly more elegant ways of dealing the noise problem - certainly not cheaper though
