Question Question about cpu fan for my build

Also is this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/shNypg/noctua-nh-d15-se-am4-1402-cfm-cpu-cooler-nh-d15-se-am4 the same thing because it’s $10 cheaper and will ship faster. Do I need to buy extra thermal paste or is the stuff on it good enough already?

Not with the front fan.
Cpu cooler clearance in that case is 170mm. NH-D15 is 165mm.
G. Skill Ripjaws V has a height of 42mm. The extra height of the memory heatspreader must be taken into account; DDR4 standard is 31mm, so add 11mm to 165.

You COULD move it to the 2nd tower, but the case already has a rear fan, so it's redundant, plus the proximity to that fan may create a certain whirring noise.

Older packaging that comes with an AM4 bracket. The older packaging for the NH-D15 didn't come with the AM4 bracket at the time, so they felt the need to change the packaging for ones that do.
The Chromax Black packing is new, so it already comes with an AM4 bracket.

Do I need to buy extra thermal paste or is the stuff on it good enough already?

It comes with it's own little tube; good enough, and no need to change it.

More compact(160mm) and performs just as good.
