Question about CPU i plan to get

So i plan on getting a new CPU and this is my motherboard: A960+. i plan on getting this CPU as it is the best one i can get http://www.ebay.com/itm/GENUINE-Bulk-AMD-FX-8300-Vishera-CPU-3-3GHz-8-core-8MB-Soket-AM3-95W-AMD-Cooler-/251293315040 just to double check this is compatable with my mother board correct? And would i need to get a new bios?

Ahh thanks just looked at prices and there nice but is that CPU better than the one i was gnna get?
And if possible could you recommend a mother board around 90-100$ since im trying not to go over 220-230 at max Just in case i cant do that motherboard

I'd recommend a 990fx motherboard with that CPU, or a 990x motherboard and a fx 6300. but your motherboard does supoprt the fx 8350, the motherboard supports the socket.

Yea, the cpu he listed is .2ghz better.
if you want to spend the extra $30 go for it.
I have a 8350 4ghz oced to 4.7

Im trying to get a good pc going since i have a GTX 660 i just need a new motherboard and CPU since mine are terrible i got a AMD Fx 4100 atm i just need to stay in price range of 220-225

I think it's better to get a FX 6300 and a good cooler, perhaps the legendary 212 EVO?

4Ghz and 8 cores. best price to power ratio
but you might need a new motherboard for it though. Like a M5A97 R2.0 (the one I have now) it's about $60

It does depend on what the user's doing, the 2 extra cores from the 8350 would only be useful in video editing or other multi core applications, but for gaming, games would only use 6 cores MAX, so it's best if purely for gaming, to go for the 6300

According to most threads of 6300 vs 8320/8350, the fx 8xxx wins, the more cores help in streaming, so you should go for the 8350, the stock cooler isn't that good, you should go with a 212 evo
