Although I always run a verify of burned disks I just found an older archive that is unreadable/unrecognizable by any of my optical drives. In an attempt to recover I have tried both "CD Recovery Wizard 2.1" and "EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard 8.8" both of which unfortunately fail to recognize a data disk is inserted into the drive. Should I keep trying additional recovery software or is this an indication it is ultimately unrecoverable?

Thanks for the reply.

I can't visibly discern a bad dye layer but I'm assuming it probably is, and likely located right at the lead in area. Other than that it is a pristine condition disk (surface wise) and although it's not valuable data I remain hopeful of a solution.
