Question about Dual boot!

I have two hard drive and my system is running windows 7. I wanna know if I can install linux in the same drive as windows 7 without making a new partition. Or can I just empty one partition of an hdd and install linux in that partition. e.g., windows 7 installed in C: drive and I can empty the E: drive on the same hdd and install linux in that drive.

So If I just format the E drive and install the OS into it. Would it work? Like Move the files to any other drive partition and then format the drive to install OS.

Okay! I have another question. How can I uninstall the OS again if I want to revert back in case something messes up.

You don't "uninstall" an OS, you just repartition and reformat disk/partition(s) it's on. If you have made BOOT menu, make sure you take that system out from it first.
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3112-easybcd.html a very good tool for making/modifying BOOT menu for windows.

For Linux on Windows take a look at using Virtual Machine like http://downloads.tomsguide.com/VMWare-Player,0301-3519.html so you don't have to take chances of ruining both systems.

I would also advise you to make full system backup before experimenting with two so different OSs on same disk, very easy to screw everything up.
