I am planning on reinstalling Windows 10 on to a new SSD. However, I have never had a dual boot system and my original Windows installation is located on a 2 TB HDD. My question is if I boot up Windows from my SSD, will I still be able to install and access my applications from the 2 TB HDD that contains my original Windows files? Or is the unused storage in my HDD not accessible while the main OS drive is running?
Also, can I use my original Windows product key to reinstall Windows on to this new SSD?

Solution
  1. Applications will NOT be usable from the new OS. The space is, the old installed applications are not.
  2. Why 2 copies of the same OS? This is rarely a good idea.

I was just wondering. The reason I wanted to have the original drive still in is because I still have some unused space in the original drive.
